Seth Godin - Companies don't care about you, how true it is

I have followed Seth Godin for many years. I find him fascinating, insightful and sometimes off the wall. However, one thing I can not fault Seth for is, not speaking out. He will - always - speak out and put those "moments of truth" out there for people to see.

Sometimes, one of his "moments of truth" strikes a chord with me, as did this short article he wrote on Saturday. It is entitled: Companies don't care about you and you can read it by following the link below:

The only thing that matters is caring for people, whether it is in the workplace, the job place ot life in general. I am trying to do this every day, whether it is through mindfulness, compassion and empathy [two interconnected, but different attributes] and being present.

Corporate business too often forgets that beneath all the processes, corporate and management b*llsh*t and conflict, there are people; people like you and me; trying to do the best that they can; with the resources they have been given; to sometimes make a difference; to achieve, to strive; to succeed at the tasks they have been given and ultimately receive the reward they seek. Not the £'s, $'s or other financial rewards, but more often than anything else, to be given the recognition and thanks. Yes, a "Thankyou" means more than almost anything. Well, thats my opinion.....
